What we do

Family wealth is not a question of investing but a system of interlocking matters. From family strategy to succession, six domains connect end to end, and we see each one through.

01

Family strategy

Before anything is built, settle where the family is headed, the lines it will not cross, and which structures carry it there. This is the ground the other five stand on.

  • Governance goals and the overall plan
  • Design of the family’s global security architecture
  • Asset-protection structures and instrument analysis
  • Global wealth-allocation planning
  • Turning the founding generation’s vision into a working plan
02

Identity planning

Identity is where a global structure begins. Where a member is taxed, in whose name assets are held, and how freely the family can move: together these set the limits of everything that follows.

  • Tax-residency planning
  • Identity for holding structures
  • Global mobility and travel
  • Overseas residency
  • Second citizenship
03

Security architecture

Place assets inside structures that hold up against jurisdictional shocks and generational change, so ownership stays clear, risk stays contained, and succession stays orderly.

  • Family trusts: China, the U.S., offshore
  • Singapore 13O and Hong Kong single family offices
  • Offshore funds · Singapore VCC · Hong Kong OFC
  • FDI / ODI cross-border investment structures
  • Global protection planning
04

Tax planning

Compliance first: coordinate family and business tax across jurisdictions, so every movement of an asset is accounted for and can be explained.

  • Members’ tax-residency planning
  • Tax matters of the family business
  • Trust taxation across the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore
  • Cross-border succession and estate tax
  • Tax counsel on sell-downs of listed-company stakes
05

Asset allocation

Anchored on cash flow that crosses generations: risk contained, inflation resisted, volatility damped, cycles crossed. We neither handle nor distribute products.

  • Perpetual cash-flow planning
  • Endowment-model global allocation
  • Global insurance planning and servicing
  • Advisory on setting up and running a family fund
  • One set of reports: balance sheet, cash flow, attribution
06

Family legacy

How rules are kept, how people grow, how the system keeps running. Values, charter and history handed on together with the wealth.

  • Family advisory board · annual
  • Family assembly · annual
  • Rising-generation coaching · three times a year
  • CIO development · quarterly
  • Family charter · drafted over three years
  • Family history · written over three years

Where to Begin

Begin with a six-capitals review

There is no need to open with a full strategy engagement. From a light questionnaire and the papers a family already has, we rate each of the six capitals — high, medium or low — and name the key gaps. The result decides where to enter: the order of service follows the family’s most pressing gap.

Methodology

The five-step strategy method

Every family plan is worked through in the same cause-to-effect order: which risks to insulate, which structures are needed, which wealth they serve, and whom the wealth is for.

01

Map the family

Chart the members and their relationships in layers of importance — the family’s constellation map.

02

Name the needs

Qualitative and quantitative questionnaires for each layer, yielding the six-capitals report and a cash-flow needs analysis.

03

Survey the assets

Draw up the family balance sheet, with a full analysis and diagnosis of where things stand.

04

Identify the risks

List every latent risk across four dimensions: geography, internal structure, generational time, and institutional trust.

05

Design structure and wealth

Design the architecture accordingly; on the wealth side, start from “always money” and build the three tiers of defence, offence and enterprise.

Delivery

Four layers, in strict order

Delivery follows one sequence: people first, then structures, then accounts, and wealth last.

01

Family & people

Whom to provide for, identity, family-council governance, the successor plan.

02

Law & structure

Trusts, foundations, companies, and the separation of ownership.

03

Accounts & compliance

Private banks, insurance and operating accounts; AML, CRS and FATCA.

04

Wealth & cash flow

The three-tier allocation system, perpetual cash flow, and one set of reports.

How We Work

Four stages

Working with a family proceeds in four steps. Each has its own deliverable, and each can be entered on its own; no one has to buy the whole road at once.

01

Counsel

The five-step method walked through in full, to see the family’s people, wealth, risks and goals clearly. Delivered: the six-capitals report, the family constellation map, the balance sheet and the risk register.

02

Design

Laying the chassis: comparison of structural paths, risks identified and designed out, suppliers screened and feasibility tested. Delivered: the architecture and the wealth-allocation system.

03

Construction

Building to the map: entities established, accounts opened, suppliers assigned and supervised, schedule and cost controlled, with two rounds of acceptance.

04

Optimisation

Annual review and filings, policy monitoring and impact assessment, response to events, rebalancing, family assemblies and charter updates. Charged by the year, and where the craft really shows.

Optimisation is not the end; it is the input to the next round. Without that loop the first three stages are just a straight line. With it, they become perpetual.

Flourishing Tree sells no financial products. All services are advisory, and their scope is defined in a separately signed agreement.

Saying things clearly is often half the solution.
